With over 30 years in the
insurance business, Mel is eminently qualified to guide the RAM Group’s
philosophy to success. Well-versed in building and supporting annuity and
life insurance products, Mel's achievements include building a national life
and annuity marketing and sales program, developing cutting edge products and
sales education programs. Before he began the brokerage business 20 years ago
Mel was a qualifying and continues to be a Lifetime member of the MDRT so he
knows how a successful agent thinks. Mel is a tireless champion for fixed and
equity index annuities, permanent life insurance and impaired risk life
underwriting. A Life Underwriting Training Council Fellow, Mel is also a
registered representative with Series 6, 7 and 63 licenses. Call him with

A partner of the RAM Group,
Jeff is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and brings more than 8
years of insurance industry experience as well as knowledge of marketing
communications, presentation design and operations to the RAM Group. Working
to develop product and sales education and training programs, he now runs
day-to-day operations and is responsible for the marketing communications and
concepts that come from the RAM Group. From simple illustrations to advanced
case design, Jeff puts his stamp on the RAM Group’s product - always
promoting the ideas and concepts that help in supporting the agent
successfully market the full range of RAM Group’s product offerings. Jeff can

BBQ GROUP is an independent marketing company whose
principals collectively have more than 100 years experience in the life
insurance business. Their careers
have all focused on helping agents and agencies grow their production, and

BBQ Group (Brad Smith, Bruce Gordon and Ken Quinn), in affiliation with

Brad
Smith, CLU |
|
Brad Smith, CLU, was a partner and chief operations officer of one of the largest
independent marketing organizations (IMO) in the industry, helping to build
that company into one of the largest annuity and life distributors in the
country (multi-billions in production).
Brad subsequently sold his interest to a major insurance company,
which owns and operates it today.
Prior to that, Brad was chief marketing officer for Liberty Life
Insurance Company. He began his
career in 1972 with Metropolitan Life as both an agent and district manager.

Bruce
Gordon, CLU |

Bruce Gordon, CLU, has held senior sales and marketing positions with four major life
insurance companies, most recently as chief marketing officer and a director
for Kansas City Life. Like Brad, he began
his career as an agent in 1972, and has had considerable experience in
product development as well as marketing, and has been responsible for
growing life and annuity sales through agents, brokerage agencies, IMO’s,
banks, wire houses and broker-dealers. Bruce can

Ken Quinn, CLU |
|
Ken Quinn, CLU, was most recently with
the same IMO as Brad, serving as president of the life division, a start-up department
that he grew to over $20 million per year in target premium, making it one of
the largest brokerage agencies in the country in terms of premium production,
employees and servicing capacity for producing agents. He began his insurance career in 1962 as
an agent with Metropolitan Life, progressing through the management ranks to
become a regional vice president responsible for recruiting independent life
and annuity agents. Well respected by
producers throughout the country, Ken has also served in leadership roles
locally with the CLU, GAMA, and NAIFA chapters and also served as Missouri
state president of NAIFA. Ken can be
